From 1982 to 1999, both vessels alternated between service on the River Mersey and Cabinda, Africa, handling demanding harbor operations.
Today, the Rowangarth remains on-station on the Tyne, while the Eldergarth, now renamed the Shannon, operates on the Clyde.
