SM32 – Sister Diana Murdoch is an unpainted scale model figure inspired by the classic 1958 British wartime film Ice Cold in Alex.
The figure depicts Sister Diana Murdoch, portrayed in the film by Sylvia Syms, wearing her practical desert clothing during the hazardous journey across North Africa.
Sculpted in a natural, relaxed standing pose, Diana has one hand tucked into her trouser pocket while looking thoughtfully to one side. The understated pose reflects the character-driven nature of the film and makes the figure equally suitable as a standalone display piece or as part of a larger scene with the other members of the Ice Cold in Alex group.
Careful attention has been given to the period clothing and character details, including the rolled-sleeve desert shirt with breast pockets and shoulder straps, high-waisted trousers, belt, wristwatch and sturdy lace-up boots. Natural folds and creases throughout the clothing provide plenty of surface detail for painting, shading and desert weathering.
SM32 is part of our dedicated range of Ice Cold in Alex figures, featuring the principal characters in a selection of movie-orientated poses. The range includes Captain Anson, RSM Tom Pugh, Captain van der Poel and Sister Diana Murdoch, designed to work individually or together around the famous Austin K2/Y ambulance “Katy.”
The figure is supplied UNPAINTED, allowing the modeller to create their own interpretation of Diana's uniform, complexion and the dusty, sun-bleached appearance associated with the North African setting.
