The SA84 Hand Adze is a finely crafted scale model tool, perfect for adding authentic detail to your RC boats, wooden shipyards, and Age of Sail dioramas.

The adze was one of the most important tools of the shipwright, used from ancient times through to the Age of Sail and beyond. With its distinctive curved blade set at right angles to the handle, the adze was used for shaping timber, hollowing beams, and finishing planks to fit tightly on a ship’s hull or deck. Its versatility made it indispensable in the construction and maintenance of wooden vessels.

Features:

  • Accurate scale representation of a traditional hand adze

  • Styled after classic shipwright’s tools used from the 16th–19th centuries

  • Realistic handle and blade proportions

  • Available in multiple scales to suit different model projects

Perfect for:

  • Age of Sail shipyard and dockside scenes

  • RC model boats with detailed tool accessories

  • Maritime dioramas depicting carpenters and shipwrights at work

  • Collections of historical shipwright’s tools

This scale model adze pairs perfectly with the SA83 Wooden Caulking Mallet, forming part of a growing range of traditional shipwright’s tools designed to bring realism and history to your builds.

Jager Hobby Tool Miniatures are meticulously scaled to match real-world proportions, ensuring seamless integration with RC boats, vehicles, and model workshops. Each tool is designed to complement diorama figures and work scenes, adding authenticity and depth to any display.

Dispatched from our workshop in York, Yorkshire, UK, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.

The Jager Hobby Scale Accessories are accurately scaled to match real-world proportions, ensuring they integrate seamlessly with model boats, cars, trucks, and dioramas. Unlike standard figures with fixed heights, our accessories  are modelled to actual scale size, meaning a small sack in 1:14 scale (130mm) will be around 30mm tall, while a large barrel in the same scale will be approximately 68mm tall.

The figure corresponds to a specific scale measurement; for example, a 6-foot man will be accurately represented at the appropriate scale. Expect slight variations across different figures, which add unique character to your model.

We proudly offer over 2,000 items for your modelling needs.

model boat, car, or aircraft, including crew figures, animals, scale details, and various fittings across all scales.

All items are made from yellow/beige resin and are fully cured before shipping. To achieve the best results, wash the figures with warm water prior to painting.

As the scale can vary, we encourage you to measure the desired height of the figure. You can use the height of a door or window as a reference. Measure the height of the door or window and compare it to the scale measurement provided for the figure.
