“Broken heart, my dear? Don’t worry… I’ve got plenty more.”
Introducing K12 – Broken Heart, My Dear?, a wickedly playful addition to Richard the Artist’s growing collection of beautifully twisted characters.
Deep in the places sensible people avoid, an old witch wanders from town to town carrying a bulging sack over her arm.
But she isn't selling apples.
Inside are hearts.
Cracked hearts. Broken hearts. Stolen hearts. Hearts betrayed by lovers, shattered by promises and discarded by those who swore they would never leave.
Where she gets them is probably a question best left unanswered.
Dressed in layers of ancient, shredded cloth with a battered crooked witch’s hat, K12 combines classic fairy-tale witch imagery with the darker humour running through the range. Her enormous sack forms a major part of the sculpt, overflowing with individually detailed, fractured hearts.
And that knowing little smile suggests she may already have room for yours.

She's probably not looking for you.
Probably.
